ESPANA Death Game: Either Africa or Home!

Despite beating Honduras 2-0, Spain has not made an impact in this World Cup as the critics and especially its supporters had looked forward to. The loss over the Swiss was, certainly, a bolt from the blue whereas the triumph over the Hondurans was also not up to the scratch. The naivety exhibited and the amateurish misses by the Spanish vis-a-vis the Central Americans lost them a much bigger win, probably a 5-0 victory. Now, the final game is set to be played against the group H toppers Chile. It is going to be crucial and imperative game for Spain. A do or die situation. Del Bosque, Spain's boss has said that this match would be an even game as both sides have different styles of play. Although, history has the evidence that Chile has never beaten the current Euro Champions but Del Bosque, who seems utterly dispirited to me, comments that history should not be given an insight for this time's face-off as the South Americans have been in sensational form since the start of the World Cup finals. The Central Mid-fielder of the Spanish Squad, Cesc Fabregas, is determined that the Europeans would come out on top after the match and would not go home this easily.

Spain finds itself in an unexpectedly tenuous position heading into its final group match.Spain is in a position to advance to the Knock-out stage with three points but a draw or defeat would make way for Switzerland or even Honduras to leapfrog them. Switzerland sits at three points; Honduras at zero. However, a Spain victory would save them for the World Cup and could put Chile, currently at six points, in position to fall behind Switzerland.
